Grisel Hernandez is a woman of faith, purpose, and passion whose life reflects a deep desire to know Christ personally and to help others discover their identity in Him. Through seasons of learning, growth, struggle, and transformation, she has come to understand that God's favor is not earned through performance, religious activity, or human effort, but received through a living relationship with Jesus Christ.
Born in 1977 in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Dr. Jacinto Benitez and Rev. Maria Benitez, Grisel was raised with a foundation of faith that helped shape her life and calling. She is married to Marcos Hernandez, her beloved husband of sixteen years. Together, they are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Ciani and Kiara, who continue to bring joy, love, and purpose to her life.
In 1999, Grisel completed her third year of theological studies at Maranatha Bible Institute, strengthening the biblical foundation that would later shape her ministry. In 2012, she completed her associate degree in Leadership and Ministry through Ohio University, a milestone that further deepened her passion for serving God and encouraging others in their walk with Christ.
Grisel's journey has shaped the heart of Favored, a message rooted in grace, identity, redemption, faith, and the finished work of Christ. With honesty and conviction, she writes from personal experience, sharing how the Holy Spirit moved truth from information in her mind to revelation in her heart. Her desire is for readers to move beyond simply knowing about God and enter into a deeper, more intimate walk with Him.
You are favored. You are chosen. You are called. Now walk in the fullness of all Christ has already given you.
Mission
Grisel's mission is to encourage believers to move beyond religious routine and enter into a deeper, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Through her writing, counseling, and testimony, she seeks to help others recognize their true identity in Christ, embrace the grace already given to them, and walk with faith, freedom, and purpose as favored children of God.
As Ephesians 4:12-13 (NASB) says, "for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God."
May her story remind every reader that a life surrendered to Christ can become a living testimony of His grace, favor, and transforming love.
