A dark tale of madness, identity, and moral decay
By the end of the battle, their race was extinct.
But that does not mean they lost the war.
Centuries after his own death, Acari awakens with fractured memories and a voice in his mind. That voice demands him to recover the black crown, harvest the vitality of the Sentinels, and seal their souls into gems within the crown to resurrect the master of all Khorcyns. Acari, the only remaining Khorcyn, can steal the traits of those he kills, evolving with every kill. But something went wrong in his recreation, and he is now afflicted with a wasting disease that can only be delayed by stealing the lives of others into himself. As the line between survival and monstrosity begins to blur, Acari must decide what kind of creature he truly is, and what he wishes to become.
Because death cannot erase the horrors of the past, and some crowns demand more than loyalty. They demand sacrifice.
