Lauran doesn't know the answer, but she is determined to protect herself and her people, the secretive Dragon Kin, from whatever he has planned. Hunted across the Plains of Trifair and unable to return home, she finds help from two unlikely allies: Jenny, a cellphone-wielding young woman from another world, and Nath, an apprentice shaman of the Anishinaabe people.
