Helena P. Schrader is an established aviation author and expert on the Second World War. She earned a PhD in History from the University of Hamburg with a ground-breaking dissertation on a leading member of the German Resistance to Hitler. Her non-fiction publications include "The Blockade Breakers: The Berlin Airlift," "Sisters in Arms: The Women who Flew in WWII," "Codename Valkyrie: General Friederich Olbricht and the Plot against Hitler," "The Holy Land in the Era of the Crusades: Kingdoms at the Crossroads of Civilizations," and "The Powerful Women of Outremer." In addition, Helena is the author of twenty-two historical novels and winner of numerous literary awards. Her novel on the Battle of Britain, Where Eagles Never Flew, won the Hemingway Award for 20th Century Wartime Fiction and a Maincrest Media Award for Historical Fiction. RAF Battle of Britain ace Wing Commander Bob Doe called it "the best book" he had ever seen about the battle. Traitors for the Sake of Humanity was a finalist for the Foreword INDIES awards. "Moral Fibre" have both garnered excellent reviews from acclaimed review sites such as Kirkus, Blue Ink, Foreword Clarion, and Feathered Quill. In addition, "Moral Fibre" won the Hemingway Award 2022, was awarded a Maincrest Media Award for Military Fiction and was a finalist for a Book Excellence Award. Her most recent publications are a trilogy on the Berlin Airlift, "Bridge to Tomorrow," and a two-part series on the assault and siege of Malta in WWII: "Voices on the Wind."
