Jean P. Kirnan, PhD, is a professor emeritus, having recently retired from the Psychology Department at The College of New Jersey after forty years. Her teaching, consulting, and research concern the application of psychological principles to work and community programs. She brings a unique lens to this work through the combination of formal training, organizational experience, and volunteerism. Dr. Kirnan received her PhD in psychometrics from Fordham University and has worked in and consulted with organizations over the years. Her volunteer work as a therapy dog handler has led to research collaborations with community partners. Her current research concerns the impact of animals on human well-being.
