Ashlyn and her giant bodyguard Carl are safe from imprisonment, and perhaps execution - for now. But there's a condition: Carl must prove he can be trusted not to wreak the murderous destruction he unleashed on the town of Ash Meadow Valley, and to do good deeds to show that he can be a good member of the community. As they work to keep their promises, things get even more complicated. Ashlyn's bully, Susan, isn't stopping at words and shoves anymore, and Ashlyn is starting to fear for her life. And Carl has troubles of his own: Ashlyn's science teacher, Miss Chloe, is beginning to notice him in a completely different way to how anyone has before, and he has no idea how he should react to her attentions. Can Ashlyn and Carl figure out how he can safely live amongst the "tiny people"? Can Ashlyn finally stop Susan's increasingly dangerous bullying? And what on earth is Carl going to do about Miss Chloe?
