Leon Maisel's writing began as an advertising copywriter, and later wrote articles pertaining to his career as a leader in the tourism industry.
His lifelong interest in World War II history motivated him to go to Normandy and view the D-Day site at Omaha Beach. After visiting the battle site, he walked the cemetery grounds of American soldiers who sacrificed their lives. He had a profound experience there, inspiring him to write this novel.
Maisel earned a doctorate in Organizational Change and Leadership at the University of Southern California. Currently, he is a professor, and continues to pursue his passion as a history buff.
