Rich DeVos (March 4, 1926 – September 6, 2018) was a visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist, and co-founder of Amway, the world’s largest direct selling company. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Rich built a global business with his lifelong friend Jay Van Andel, grounded in the belief that anyone, given the opportunity, could succeed. A devout Christian, Rich often described himself as "a sinner saved by grace." His faith shaped his values, guiding his approach to business, philanthropy, and Family. He believed deeply in the American dream and the power of free enterprise, personal responsibility, and perseverance. Rich was a dynamic motivational speaker, known for energizing audiences with his unwavering belief in people’s potential. Alongside his beloved wife, Helen, he dedicated himself to strengthening communities both in his hometown and globally. He also brought his passion for leadership and excellence to the world of sports as the owner of the NBA’s Orlando Magic. Above all, Rich cherished his roles as husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
