Martha Dickinson Bianchi was an American writer, poet, and editor, best known for her efforts in preserving and promoting the legacy of her aunt, Emily Dickinson. Born into the renowned Dickinson family of Amherst, Massachusetts, Bianchi played a crucial role in bringing her aunt's poetry to the public, ensuring that Emily Dickinson's work gained the recognition it deserved. Beyond her editorial work, she was also a novelist and poet in her own right, contributing significantly to early 20th-century American literature.  Bianchi is best remembered for her role as the primary custodian of Emily Dickinson's literary estate. Following the work of her mother, Susan Dickinson, and Mabel Loomis Todd, she took it upon herself to edit and publish several collections of Emily Dickinson's poetry and letters. Notable among these were "The Single Hound" (1914), "Further Poems of Emily Dickinson" (1929), and "Emily Dickinson Face to Face" (1932), in which she provided personal insights into the poet's life and work.  Martha Dickinson Bianchi played a fundamental role in shaping the public perception of Emily Dickinson.
