"Novels of the History of Islam" are a series of historical novels that deal with the stages of Islamic history from its beginning until the modern era, in which Jurji Zaidan focused on the element of suspense and excitement, with the aim of getting people to read history without getting tired or bored, and to spread historical knowledge among the largest segment of them. The novel "Al-Abbasa, Sister of Al-Rashid" is included in the series of novels on the history of Islam. In this work, Zaidan narrates, through the story of Al-Abbasa, the sister of Caliph Harun Al-Rashid, important historical events, combining in his narration the logic of the historical novel. Based on imagination, the construction of characters and details of the scene, and the logic of historical material based on actual facts and events, the work included the Baramkeh catastrophe and its causes. It also included a description of the councils of the Abbasid caliphs, their clothes, their processions, and the civilization of their state in the Rashid era.
