Pepper is running from a brutal man names Mitch, who won't take no for an answer. When Davy O'Riley meets her by chance and then ends up in the same bed accidentally, she tells him he has to marry her to save her reputation.
Davy doesn't put up much of a fight. He feels inclined to protect the little brunette from the terrible man who wants her for his own, so he agrees to marry her.
What follows is danger for the couple and anyone who is close to them or tries to stop Mitch from punishing Davy and Pepper. Pepper takes risks to save her new family, which puts her in a heap of trouble.
Will Davy and Pepper fall in love and make the marriage work, or will Mitch succeed in tearing them apart forever?
