By 2045, the USA has undergone a violent revolution, with the masses rising up in a bloody pogrom against the ruling elite. The survivors have fled to Britain and pushed that country over the edge into a plutocratic dictatorship in an attempt to secure a safe haven for themselves against the new US government. The population of Britain is now under the iron heel of its own government and the secret police are everywhere.
In the center of the country, a young subversive works diligently in a tax office, trying to escape the attention of the authorities. His name is Chris Neal and he can see the desperation and fading hope of his fellow countrymen. He fears the coming storm and wonders if he can survive it.
