This is the B&W Version of this book.
The book is a compilation of many of my working trips around the world. All the stories are true.
Looking back at the opportunities my career has given me, sometimes I have to "pinch myself" and ask, "Did I really do all of this?" Many traveling businesspeople hate their nomadic life, but not me. Other than a few minor glitches (and the increased airport security after 9/11/2001) here and there, I enjoyed my travels, my work, and the wonderful people I worked with and met because of these travels. I still enjoy it.
If you love to travel, or if you love ships, this book will keep you riveted to the stories told here.
Most people start their world travel after they retire. But after working for a large, International maritime service organization for the first 17 years of his career, Bob Ojala decided to resign and start his own business. Bob eventually traveled to over 70 countries and actually worked in 58 of them (he kept track). He investigated ship accidents, like the one shown on the cover, and worked in exotic locations such as Yap, Dubai, Samoa, Singapore, Korea, and Ukraine, just to mention a few.
Bob reported to his family with emails, but not like a typical travelogue. Bob met the local people, asked them questions about their life, ate the local foods, and tried his best to understand the various cultures he experienced. His working stories are interesting, but many are also exciting and even shocking.
