Translation Studies is a branch which is going from strength to strength. Although translation practice has a long history, the research into this trend is very new. It was not before 1972, when Holmes, for the first time, drew a rather comprehensive map of Translation and its related areas. Holmes called the newly-born trend ¿Translation Studies¿ Afterwards, lots of scholars have tried to extend the depth and scope of it. One of the most interesting aspects of translation which has received too much attention is Discourse Analysis (D.A) which is the science of language interpretation within the text and context. What roles does (D.A) play in translation studies? Systematic Functional Grammar (SFG), Julian House model of translation quality, Katherine Reisis text typology in translation and Shoshanna Blum-Kulläs theory of cohesion in translation are the areas which have been highly affected by D.A.
