Rachel Dodge teaches college writing classes and literature seminars, speaks at libraries, book clubs, and reading groups, and is the author of Praying with Jane: 31 Days Through the Prayers of Jane Austen. She is passionate about encouraging women and sharing God's love through writing and blogging. A true kindred spirit at heart, Rachel loves puffed sleeves, classic books, and historic homes and gardens.Rachel is a graduate of the University of Southern California (BA in English and public relations) and California State University, Sacramento (MA in English literature). She wrote her master's thesis on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and won the 2005 Dominic J. Bazzanella Literary Award.Rachel speaks at literary events, book clubs, and church groups. She was the featured speaker at the Sacramento Public Library's "How Austentatious!" series, Notable Books series, and 2014 Jane Austen Birthday Tea. Rachel has published articles with the Lucy Maud Montgomery Institute (LMMI), Jane Austen's World, Jane Austen's Regency World magazine, Woman Alive magazine, Jane Austen in Vermont, Inspire Christian Writers, Christian Shelf Esteem, and other Christian and literary blogs. She is a Friend of LMMI and a member of Inspire Christian Writers, the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA), and JASNA Greater Sacramento.
