Schuknecht's Pathology of the Ear emphasizes clinical history and laboratory findings including audiological and vestibular testing for the purposes of clinico-pathologic correlation.
The third edition of Harold F. Schuknecht's Pathology of the Ear has been reorganized and consists of four sections, including:(I.) Anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the ear, (II) Disease processes of the ear and (IV) Histopathology following surgical treatment. An entirely new section (III) has been developed, entitled Patterns of degeneration of the ear with multiple etiologies which hopefully will serve as a helpful guide to the reader to recognize that multiple etiologies may result in a similar histopathologic phenotype.
Where possible, new full color digital images of histopathology have been created and images have been labeled with a scheme that employs green for normal structures and red to depict abnormalities.
